    Do we need average dicks in porn?

    to ali_thickcock : Porn is about as real as superhero movies, Ali. If we measured ourselves against Spiderman, we'd be setting ourselves up for abject feelings of failure and inadequacy.

    Look at porn critically. Mainstream porn in particular (amateur porn doesn't suffer this effect nearly as often) is utterly ridiculous, far-fetched, almost cartoon like in its silliness. The women are - usually - fake (boobs, lipo, hair colour, insane make-up, botox lips), and the men are hung like zeppelins. (Some) Young men buy into that warped view, unfortunately. (Imagine how young women feel watching this stuff? And for them, it's all over, in billboard advertizing for cosmetics especially!).

    For guys who feel emasculated by mainstream porn, I think it's time for them (young and old) to think a bit more critically. Porn producers won't to act more "responsibly" in their casting of males. They're in it for money, not social or psychological development services. And that's probably the lens through which mainstream-porn should be viewed; watch it, get off, and forget it.

    There are a whole host of other conversations we could spiral into here, such as size-queens, monster-cock porn, small penis humiliation fetishes etc. Those are tastes catered by specific genres of porn. But to conclude, I think it's unrealistic to expect porn to be ... measuring stick (hah) ... for what women want, and what men need to provide. Pleasing a partner takes more than a big dick, and if it doesn't, you're doing it wrong. :grinning:

But i think we need to be represented and not feel humiliated and emasculated each time we watch mainstream porn. I think it's a real problem and it's breaking young men's self-esteem all over the world and spreading false ideas about sex.

    Do we need average dicks in porn? I'm probably not the person to ask, because honestly I don't watch porn for dicks. I watch to see a guy shoot a decent load on a woman in some way, preferably on her feet. So to me, the size of the cum dispenser doesn't matter. Of course, there's a market for "big dick porn," and for "small dick porn" in the realm of "small penis humiliation." Average dick porn? Maybe, but probably not, because it doesn't fall to an extreme on either side.

    In general, porn, being a visual entertainment commodity produced to make money, will cater to what makes a (dare I say) bigger visual impact, and it's probably likely that larger cocks work better on camera (are easier to capture in video) than smaller ones. Huge butts, huge boobs, small butts, tiny boobs, huge dicks, average dicks, small dicks; everything has an audience, and therefore a place, in porn. However, if you ask me about cocks specifically, I don't care what size they are, only that they shoot a nice load on a willing woman.

    it is a myth in my opinion and it is marketing even in this industry, that when is bigger is better. It is just a video trick shooting closer with the camera, which gives the wrong experience that the porn actors all have big dicks.
