Wim Wenders' Pina Bausch docu (inc. UK subs)

Hi Folks,

I know this is another post that does not really belong here or contains anything that people would come here to expect. That being said, if you are at all into dance, ballet or dance theatre, then do check this out. It is a documentary/hommage to dancer/choreographer/performer Pina Bausch, probably one of the worlds most prolific workers in the field, who sadly passed away in 2009.

If you like what the human body can do, apart from have sex, which I agree is wonderful, then do read the story below and maybe download the 98 minute programme. Also, make sure you grab the subtitles. Believe me, you won't regret this.

It is a free download from rapidshare, no signing up, no registration, no money involved.

Download, sit back and have the time of your life, I know we did.

Pina (2011)

(I have posted some 20 screenshots at the end of this post)

Synopsis:
No, there was no hurricane that swept across the stage, there were just - people performing who moved differently then I knew and who moved me as I had never been moved before. After only a few moments I had a lump in my throat, and after a few minutes of unbelieving amazement I simply let go of my feelings and cried unrestrainedly. This had never happened to me before... maybe in life, sometimes in the cinema, but not when watching a rehearsed production, let alone choreography. This was not theatre, nor pantomime, nor ballet and not at all opera. Pina is, as you know, the creator of a new art. Dance theatre. (Director Wim Wenders about Pina)

Note:
If you are into Ballet, don't miss this. Pina Bausch was Germanys most talented and variable dancer, who sadly passed away in 2009. Just one thing... don't expect anything along the lines of traditional ballet, like Swan Lake or the Nutcracker but rather an audio-visual feast of staggering magnitude.

Pina Bausch, who all her life was obsessed with the elements, frequently took to nature with her troupe exploring ever new boundaries of dance, motion and how to incorporate natural elements into her performances and those of her dancers, some of which worked with her for more the 25 years.

Personnally, I've had the privilege of seeing her and her troupe, Tanztheater Wuppertal, a couple of times in Germany, an experience I am unlikely to ever forget.

If you want to see boundaries pushed to the furthest limits, don't miss this.

Oh, before I forget, if this hits the silver screen in your town, do go and see it, as far as I am concerned, the only film ever made in 3D that is really worth seeing, you really do get the depth of field of the stage.
