15 things to understand about Sex Workers

I was going through old stuff I had wrote/ modified on some my formerly public Social media sites. This is my only still constantly active one most others I closed or got Zucced for my views

Taken & slightly edited from sex worker in Nevada who works in a brothel , Female friend from school

1) Their services are for sale, Their bodies are not.

2)Their bodies are still theirs, they control themselves, you as a peasserby or customer do not. they make the decision to do this, a customer does not make the decisions about what happens to them. They make the decisions based on the customer’s wants.

3) They can still experience sexual harrassment, assault, abuse, and ****. Just because you walk into a strip club and a girl is wearing a g-string and see through bra does not mean you have the right to say “man, I wanna suck on those tits". Absolutely no touching without consent.

4) Being a sex worker does not mean they’re horny all the time.

5) Being a sex worker doesn’t mean they are “easy” to have sex with, and its generally the opposite.

6) Being a sex worker does not mean that you in any way owe sex to anyone because it is your job.

7) If you know a sex worker personally (specifically related to escorts and full service sex workers), you should never expect to get laid quickly or easily because of the fact that “they do it for a living”. Sex workers are still people and we still don’t owe you anything.

8) Sex workers are not more likely to cheat on you than anyone else who has any ordinary job.

9) There’s nothing wrong with dating a sex worker.

10) Sex work is still just a job, whenever we come home we want to hang out and relax and complain about stupid customers like any other customer service job, or they want to rave about how nice one of the customers were that day.

11) Being a sex worker is a lifestyle, it changes you in a lot of ways that are good and bad because of your experiences. So for people close to a sex worker, try to understand that. They want to be treated like our jobs aren’t really any different than an ordinary job because to us it’s really not. It feels the same getting dressed up and ready for work just like it is putting on a uniform and going to work. But there are parts of the job that effect you permanently that you can’t turn off and forget as soon as you’re home.

12) No that stripper doesn’t love you. No she’s not going home with you (in most cases).

13) Being a sex worker means that they manipulate people for a living, they act, play dress up and fantasy all the time whenever they are working. When they get off the clock, they like to relax and be real with people, they don’t like to fake it.

14) Their money, our business.

15) Their choice, our business.

to mangood1 : And although no interjection but judging this written piece open to the circumstantial by-passers whom might dialogue inside their heads, I add a point of view that would make 99.99% of earth's humanity  eligible for prostitution under the following precepts: https://youtu.be/oRFI4SBcn6E

Accurate assessment… couldn’t do anything else but to concur and if maybe add, it would be angles from where to agree… “Sometimes you must treat a hooker like a Lady and sometimes you have to treat a lady like Hooker” - an old tutor whispered in my ear, for me to keep it on my heart
