Greek captain sent off on soft red in less than 38 minutes for clumsy challenges


Greek captain Kostas Katsouranis received yellow for a clumsy challenge in the 27th minute of the Greece-Japan World Cup match. Less than 15 minutes later, he received a second for another needless, clumsy challenge.

Kostas Katsouranis is the first Greek player to receive a red in the World Cup, according to ESPN.

He also gave the ref the Mutombo finger wag, which somehow didn't dissuade him from issuing the red.

Greece is down to 10 men with a half still to play.
