Lets go to the opening post.

I think that the theme and chosen stimuli will give everyone a good, if not excellent chance of finding something to write about and contribute to the KAW in there own unique way.

So we have an invitation to write a story on darkness. The photos and clip are called stimuli; there is no statement that the story must justify a literal relationship to the photo- other than for me of course.

I contributed in my 'own unique way' and have been attacked for making the effort to put a story forward.

In five years on the forum and following every contest put forward I have never seen that done to anyone else and ,in case you were wondering I have seen plenty of stories that, to me, had nothing what ever to do with the topic. And no one gave a toss.

So what do you think now?

And for what it's worth the darkness was , as I have said, Bronnie's and she would very much have felt she was like the figure in photo one while Melody was out trying to find someone new in her life.

Taking a snippet from a very long opening post isn't helping your case either.

If you had read the post fully you would see you had to choose either a photo or the song and write about it from a darkness perspective.

So your point is mute.

You thought you could push the boundaries of my kaw rules and theme test how loosely you could bases it on your story.

Well, sorry. No. If it had referenced the photo in the story then yes it would be fine, but you blatantly dance around the theme and photo avoiding anything to do with it.

For that it is your own fault in being always pedantic and nitpicking competitions apart.

I have an idea for you.

Simple solution is if you don't like the competitions/the theme/the person running them then DONT ENTER THEM. But then you wouldn't have anything to bitch and complain about.

Now if I was a nasty person I'd tell you to curl up and die but I'm not so enjoy your whinging life.

As much as it pains me to admit it, I can't see where in the head post it says you have to actually write a story directly related to one of the pictures. I think that is strongly implied and everyone else took it that way.

However, PP wasn't attacked, he was criticized for not following the theme, or using a picture. Those are valid areas to criticize, and there have been stories criticized on those grounds previously. My story for "Affair to remember" was criticized for exactly that.

I still don't follow PP's logic about "Affair" as there is none. He is a troll, he may have a feeble grasp on logic as well.

 

A good example of why you should never set midnight as a time. The military will usually use 23:59 or 00:01 to make it obvious. By my reckoning 00:00 is the midnight at the start of a day its already past, 24:00 is the midnight at the end of a day.

You are incapable of understanding the difference between the noun phrase an affair and the word affair. If you could then you would understand my argument.

 

Don't you find it strange, Prurient Purveyer, that everyone is saying essentially the same thing? Just like in CAW 24? Maybe we're all over-thinking this "adherence to theme" business. We can nitpick it to death and play semantics games till Christmas, but it doesn't seem anyone is changing his or her mind. People disagree with you. That's very clear.

Actually Stex old boy there is a world of difference between 'attacked' and 'criticized' and there is no way in the world the little shrew's post on Good was anything other than an attack.

You don't follow my logic about affair. This would be because you are a fuck wit. I have dealt with this on the thread before- not about you being a fuck wit which you undoubtedly are- but about the meaning of An Affair.

You lot love to throw the word Troll about -it would be nice if you knew what it means. An opposite view to the one you post isn't trolling and nor is defending yourself against attacks.

There are two reasons you're losing this argument.

1. You haven't explained your position other than to say you're right and everyone else is wrong. Why do you feel that way? What's the reason?

2. Calling people a cow or a fuckwit, or saying they're stupid makes them go on the counter-attack. The argument devolves into shit-slinging.

So Sybil, I picked a photograph, I followed the Theme of Darkness- every bit as much as your story- and I stated at the top of the story which photograph I used.

I didn't follow your interpretation of darkness nor did I see anywhere that there would be a test by the double digit IQ brigade, such as yourself, to challenge the link between the photo and the story and in this I was clearly wrong in taking your description of the photos and song as "stimuli".

Obviously they weren't 'stimuli" rather they were topics.

I put the story up to help you out by boosting numbers. That was my sole purpose in submitting it and for that I have been attacked from pillar to post.

I have not lost the argument in fact I am still waiting for someone to respond to the points I have made.

Point by point:

Hell yeah, I read your posts. The exact reason I asked was because I read this entire thread and the CAW 24 thread several times and still didn't see an explanation other than you're right, and everyone else is wrong. That's what I'm asking. What is your reason for saying that? It may be sound, logical, and easy for a child to understand, but you haven't posted it.

The argument is now a barroom brawl. There's no real reasoning here anymore. At this point, winning the argument seems to be secondary to winning the fight.

Name-calling is a big reason for that. Granted, in this post you haven't said too much, but even "pathetic" is a word filled with emotion. It inspires a negative reaction. That does nothing to win an argument. It's more like the thing someone says who's trying to start another fight.

I like being one who can have fun. I even allude to it in my user name. Here, I'm defending the writing challenge concept more than a person or group of them. Frankly, Sybil and I have had our differences. ejls is a good friend, but we don't agree on everything. Who does? I don't know half these people from Adam and Eve. As far as my status? What status? I'm a defrocked moderator. I post a lot, so people know me. Big deal. That's really not the point. I'm irritated that you seem to enjoy raining on parades so much.

Since we're doing this, I have two genuine questions:

Can you explain, in words the average person can comprehend, why you disagree with the Hosts' interpretations of themes they wrote?

Is it necessary to get angry? Even if someone else makes an inflammatory post, responding with bitterness doesn't help.​

Unwisely I'll note, you see PP's logic at work. I use the word "troll" once, in proper context and he says I love to throw it around.

Well you know what @Prurient Purveyer as kaw host it is my decision on what the theme is and if you don't fall into it then I am going to call you on it.

So decision made, I'm excluding you from this kaw for
A) last of adherence to the theme set
B) abuse to everyone who was trying to find out where you were coming from and trying to help fix your lack if adhesion
C) lastly because you knowingly wrote a story that didn't fit and sent it in expecting it to be OK.

Don't wrap shit in foil and call it silver.
