I fear religion.

Telling me they know THE answer, that THEIR god is THE god and all other religions are wrong. Then they march the kids off to war to die in the name of a god against enemies marching their kids to die in the name of their god.

Funny that the religious believe in anti-emperical, anti-science creation myths, in heaven and hell and telepathically communicating with spirits that they believe have magical powers. But when they get sick or injured seek science... evolution-based biological medicine... for cures, obviously aware that prayers to deities will not cure their ills

 

mans biggest fear is fear itself

 

My biggest fear is failing as a father. I have a great role model in my father. Because of work, I’m not home enough and worry that something might happen. So when I have time, I give as much as I can to the kids. I know the wife gets a little jealous sometimes but I can’t help it. It’s just the way I am.

Getting some terrible rare disease that’s grotesque and horrifying and potentially dying from it. Worse is not knowing if you have it or not for weeks and worrying about it.

 

I am deathly afraid of snakes. I grew up in an area surrounded by empty fields, and in the Summer time, there were always snakes around startling the crap out of me.

One time as a young adult I was standing outside talking with my Grandma, and I glanced down, and noticed a snake just a few inches away from us. I leapt past Grandma, while shouting "Get out of the way! There's a snake" as I pushed past her to get away from it. Grandma picked up a garden hoe and chopped it in half, thereby saving me from the menace.

 

If there has been one thing that has feared me it would be rejection from the opposite sex.

It has happened a lot in life. This site has allowed me to be myself for once.

 

That life is what it is, all you see and when it's all over, it was all for nothing... except enriching the mortuarian's pocket.

 

Fear and being afraid "to" has served me well over the years, I only wish I had been afraid more often...

 

Knowing they’ll never be a cure for MS. I have a fear of dying. I fear dying because I wonder if my wife will be okay without me. I fear what tomorrow might bring her. I fear what the future holds. I fear the thought of losing her.

I’m fearless, but not when it comes to her

 

Fear is the path to failure and regret but sometimes it makes us a better individual

 

Spiders and heights. I can't even go by the edge of the second floor of the mall, where you can see down to the first floor. Spiders are fuckers, and I have nightmares about not being able to get them off me. Sometimes I wake up crying. I welcome house centipedes because they eat spiders.

Also, something happening to my kids. I think about them being abducted or bullied every day.

 

Bees, heights, and cancer.

Also damn near a helicopter parent when it comes to my kids. I’m sure I’ll never stop worrying about them.
