Well, heres a big thanks and a High Five for paying mine cause they spent what I gave them to save for me....

However I have not heard anything about moving age 68 retirement to 74......

Dumping as much as I can in to my 403b so I don't have to work until I did. On pace for $2m by 60

 

the change in retirement age started with a specific year of birthday, as time went on the younger people got the highest retirement age. I think i was in my early 20s when i got the notification. Just about everyone in my age group that i know have gotten a big fuck you letter from SSI , I can't speak for everybody but my generation can't retire until 74

 

I retired in 2011 at the age of 55, from a major oil company. Awesome job that paid well, world travel, etc. But that getting up in the morning sucked, shower, commute, ICK! I love painting my house, doing yardwork, maintaining the swimming pool...I do all those things for ME...not THEM! Just got back from a week in Denver,
where we toured pot farms, Segway tour, and played in the city...all spur of the moment. You can't do that stuff when you're working.

that feeling would be better without that big government dick up the ass. Just think all that money they stole from you over all the years so they could have everything we cant have , and they get it all free and don't have to wait until they are almost dead. Fucking congress is such a fucking criminal organization they should be in prison

Well.
Shooter can't retire back to Xcebia until Supreme Commander authorizes it. Likely, Supreme Commander will authorize my retirement with a Matter Transformation Unit shot to the head the next time I screw up...............


But, as an earthling Shooter is pulling the plug next January. His financial adviser (Shooter advises anyone without a finance background to hire one) told him 2 years ago he could retire whenever he wanted to.
My earth boss and I were recently having a discussion about retirement in general and he asked when I planned to retire. I told him, "the next time you piss me off".

He thought I was kidding and laughed.
I asked him what was so funny.

Since then he's been much nicer to me.

 

I retired in 2012 from the government that everyone is hating. Within a month I started another full time job. Long story short, by 60 I will have retired a second time. After that I'm not doing shit, I'll hire someone.

 

I don't have enough experience to answer this question.

 

I waited 3 months after I was first eligible to early retirement. Now I'm sorry I wasted those 3 months...

I know I am the odd ball here I should have retired at 37 but because the army kept pissing me off it took me to 47 it is going on 10 years now and I love it

 

I have just finished reading every post on this thread. I am 60 and I am in the position to retire if i desire. I have worked in several different jobs and been successful in all of them. My motivation has always been the challenge of the task. I believe that if you have challenged yourself all your life if you stop doing that you will die. Your body as well as your mind needs to be worked every day or you will lose it. I agree that you don't have to make the commute to work every day but you have to find something you enjoy doing and go for it. Every morning you must look in the mirror and like what you see and be happy to tackle another day. My task at hand is to find the job for me for the next ten years or so. Then I will worry about what is next. In my early years I lived on or over the edge and I am truly amazed that I am still alive. Now I am still single, dating a stripper much younger than I, and still living the dream. Proof that life is full of surprises so enjoy every day of it.

 

I like this and it is very true.....

I am much like this but I don't much care to have to be told when to work and be off..........

I have also gotten past the stage of fucking with strippers...........just to much drama from them these days.........
